Held in Krakow, Poland on December 11, 2019
Department of Financial Accounting, Cracow University of Economics in collaboration with Kozminski University and ACCA Poland will hold their Workshop in Krakow, Poland on December 11, 2019. The Workshop will be held in conjunction with the 9th International Conference Financial Reporting and Auditing: Meeting the information users’ needs.
During the Workshop internationally recognized scholars will share their knowledge and experience with participants. Preference will be given to doctoral students and early career researchers. However, the Workshop is open to all accounting scholars committed to improving their research and skills capacity and increase publication opportunities. The language of the Workshop is English.
The Workshop will begin with a light lunch Wednesday December 11, 2019. It will proceed in two sections, with a coffee break in between. Section 1 will consist in presentations delivered by the faculty members. Section 2 will take the form of a roundtable with a moderated discussion among faculty members and workshop participants on publication process, research projects and similar issues. The approach will be interactive, and every attendee will have an opportunity to talk about ideas, aims, fears and failures.

Charles Cho is Professor of Accounting and the Erivan K. Haub Chair in Business & Sustainability at the Schulich School of Business, York University. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, a Master of Science in Accounting, and a PhD in Business Administration (Accounting Track) from the University of Central Florida. He also worked for KPMG LLP and other public accounting firms for several years in auditing and taxation. His research interests include Social and Environmental Accounting; Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR); and Accounting and the Public Interest. Professor Cho has published papers in prestigious academic journals such as Accounting, Auditing and Accountability Journal, Accounting, Organizations and Society, Critical Perspectives on Accounting, the European Accounting Review, and the Journal of Business Ethics, and was an invited author of chapters in several books. His work has been presented at various national and international conferences such as the American Accounting Association (AAA) Annual Meeting, the Canadian Academic Accounting Association (CAAA), the European Accounting Association (EAA) Annual Congress and the International Congresses on Social and Environmental Accounting Research.
He currently serves as an Editor of Accounting Forum, the Accounting and Business Ethics Section Co-Editor of the Journal of Business Ethics as well as an Associate Editor of Accounting and the Public Interest. In addition, he is an Editorial Board member of 14 other academic journals. He is regularly invited as plenary keynote speaker at international conferences and is actively involved in the academic community as a Council member of the Centre for Social and Environmental Accounting Research and Chair of the International Associates Committee. Finally, he has taught financial and managerial accounting courses and designed some CSR/sustainability and business ethics courses at the undergraduate, graduate (MBA, MSc), PhD levels as well as in executive programs for corporate managers.

Giuseppe Grossi is Professor in Accounting at Kozminski University (Poland), Kristianstad University (Sweden) and Nord University (Norway). He holds a PhD in Business Administration from the University of Pisa (Italy). He was visiting scholar in several universities including Fondaçao Getulio Vargas in Rio de Janeiro, Stockholm University, Tampere University, Tartu University, University of Sydney, and Victoria University of Wellington. Giuseppe’s diverse research focuses on governmental accounting, hybrid forms of governance and performance of knowledge intensive public organizations, state owned enterprises and smart cities. He has extensive experience in conducting country and comparative studies with senior and emerging scholars from different disciplines around the world. He collaborates as expert with national and local governments, Supreme Audit Institutions, and the European Court of Auditors. Giuseppe’s publications appear in leading accounting and public management journals. He has been guest editor of several special issues in public management and in interdisciplinary accounting journals including Accounting, Auditing and Accountability Journal, Accounting Forum, Critical Perspectives on Accounting, Journal of Accounting in Emerging Economies and Qualitative Research in Accounting & Management. Giuseppe is member of two Special Interest Groups (“Accounting and Accountability” and “Hybrid Governance”) of the International Research Society on Public Management (IRSPM), and sits in the Board of the Comparative International Government Accounting Research (CIGAR) Network. He is on the editorial board of several accounting journals and editor-in-chief of the Journal of Public Budgeting, Accounting and Financial Management (Emerald).
Giovanna is Professor of Accounting at the School of Economics, Finance and Management of the University of Bristol. She holds a PhD in Economics and Management from the University of Padova. She was visiting scholar at Concordia University, University of Central Florida, ESSEC Business School and at Université Toulouse Capitole. Her research interests include social and environmental accounting and reporting, corporate social responsibility, corporate governance and accountability. Giovanna is a well-established international scholar with more than 40 publications in leading academic journals such as Accounting, Organizations and Society, Accounting Auditing and Accountability Journal, British Journal of Management, Critical Perspective on Accounting, European Accounting Review and Journal of Business Ethics.
Giovanna is highly engaged with both the academic and professional community. She is currently Editor-in-Chief of the European Accounting Association Research Centre, Co-editor of Accounting Forum, and Associate Editor of Accounting and the Public Interest and sits on the editorial boards of several accounting journals. She is Council member of the Centre for Social and Environmental Accounting Research (University of St. Andrews) and Chair of the ACCA Global Forum for Governance, Risk and Performance.
